A small spark can change everything.

The Spark Chain helps people take bold steps by connecting them with encouragement, expertise, bravery challenges, or microgrants.

How It Works

The Spark Chain is a completely free movement powered by people who lift each other up one spark at a time. Small acts of support create ripples of courage, connection, and forward motion. Each person who receives a spark becomes part of the chain and keeps it going by sparking someone else.

Meet the Spark Seekers

These are the people standing at the edge of something brave: launching a dream,

making a change, or taking the next big step. Each Seeker has shared what they’re

working toward and the kind of support that could help them move forward:

a word of encouragement, expert advice, a bravery challenge, or a small microgrant.

How to Become a Spark Seeker: The First Step in The Spark Chain

Ready to take a bold step and need a little support? Follow these steps to join The Spark Chain as a Seeker:

  1. Click here or on the "Request a Spark" button to fill out the Spark Seeker Form.

  2. Share your bold step. Tell us what you’re working toward — a dream, a transition, a fresh start. Big or small, it just needs to be brave.

  3. Choose the Spark you need. Let us know what kind of support would help most: encouragement, expertise, a bravery challenge, or a microgrant.

  4. Submit your Seeker form. Please allow up to 72 hours for review, approval, and for your story to be added to the Spark Seeker gallery.

  5. Receive your spark and pass it on. When you're sparked, you become the next link in the chain: a Spark Sponsor. By honoring the support you received, you get to help someone else take their own bold step forward.

Meet the Spark Sponsors

From Seeker to Sponsor, this is how one act of courage lights another.

Each Sponsor has received a spark and now chooses to pay it forward by supporting someone else. Whether Sponsors send encouragement, share their expertise, offer a challenge, or give a small microgrant, Sponsor sparks light the next link in the chain.

Browse Spark Seeker stories. Choose one that resonates. Send a spark.

Because small acts of belief can change everything.

How Spark Sponsors Can Send a Spark
  1. Review the Seeker Gallery: Explore the stories of Spark Seekers and find one that resonates with you and matches the kind of support you're able to give.

  2. Fill Out the “Send a Spark” Form: Submit the form to let us know who you’d like to support. Your spark will be reviewed, and within 72 hours you’ll receive confirmation and next steps.

  3. Send Your Spark: Depending on yours and the Seekers's preferences, you’ll either be connected directly or The Spark Chain will deliver your spark on your behalf. Sparks should be sent within 7 days.

  4. Keep the Chain Going: That’s it! You’ve helped someone take a bold step forward. Come back anytime to support another brave step.

About The

Spark Chain

The Spark Chain began as a response to a deep need for something more hopeful, human, and forward-moving.

In a time when the world felt heavy, divided, stuck, and out of our control, this project began with a desire to bring light, encouragement, and forward motion back into people’s lives.

The Spark Chain started with a question: "What if one small spark of kindness could create a chain reaction that lifts us all toward a brighter, more connected world?" Now, it's a growing pay-it-forward movement rooted in human connection, generosity, and brave beginnings.

No algorithms, no gatekeepers, just real people supporting each other through encouragement, expertise, bravery challenges, and microgrants.

The Spark Chain is one way we begin shaping a kinder, more encouraging world, one spark, one person, one bold step at a time.

  • What is The Spark Chain?
The Spark Chain is a free, people-powered movement where small acts of support spark brave steps. Each person who receives a spark becomes a Sponsor by sparking another Seeker and keeps the chain going.
  • Do I have to pay anything to be part of this?
No. The Spark Chain is completely free to join and participate. All we ask is that participants uphold the spirit of generosity, kindness, and paying it forward to help the chain grow.
  • Why was The Spark Chain created?
The Spark Chain began as a response to the heaviness and disconnection many of us were feeling in the world. Teresa Traxler Densmore created it to spark light, encouragement, and a ripple effect of small, human acts of support. The goal is simple: to create a chain reaction of kindness and connection that helps people take meaningful brave steps forward together.
  • How is this different from charity or mentoring?
Charity and mentorship are both meaningful ways to give, but The Spark Chain is something different. You're not supporting an organization or entering into a long-term relationship. You're offering one-time support to a real person with a real need, helping create just enough momentum for the next brave step. Just a spark, passed from one human to another.
  • Can I nominate someone else to be a Seeker?
Not yet. For now, we only accept self-submitted Seekers. The ask itself is part of the brave step.
  • Where does the microgrant money go?
Microgrants are sent directly from the Sponsor to the Seeker using a payment app like Venmo or Zelle. The Spark Chain NEVER holds or manages any funds, we only facilitate the match. Sponsors directly send support, based on the Seeker’s preferences.
  • Can I share this with others? How can I help grow the chain?
es, please! Share the site, spread the word, or become a Spark Seeker yourself. Every new spark helps grow the chain. Together, we’re creating a kinder, more encouraging world, one bold step at a time.
  • Is this available outside the U.S.?
Yes. The Spark Chain is fully digital, so anyone can participate from anywhere, no in-person interaction required.
  • Who runs this? Is it a nonprofit or business?
The Spark Chain is a community-driven initiative created by Teresa Traxler Densmore. It’s officially registered as a trade name and operates as a project under her consulting company, Alloy Impact Strategies, LLC. While it’s not currently a nonprofit or revenue-generating business, it is a people-powered movement helping humans support one another. As the chain grows, we may explore sustainable structures, but for now, it runs on purpose, connection, and sparks.
  • How can I support The Spark Chain itself? Does it accept donations?
Right now, The Spark Chain does not accept donations. It's 100% volunteer-powered. But you can support it by sharing it with others, becoming a Seeker then a Sponsor, and helping spread the spark in your community. As we grow, we may explore new ways to sustain and expand this movement.
  • How do I become a Spark Seeker?
Click “Request a Spark” and fill out the form. Please allow up to 72 hours for review, approval, and for your story to be added to the Spark Seeker gallery.
  • What kind of support can I ask for?
You can ask for encouragement, expertise, a microgrant for $100 or less, or a challenge; whatever would help you take your next brave step. Encouragement: A supportive message to help prepare for a difficult conversation with a boss. Microgrant: A $25 Venmo payment to help the Seeker print flyers for an upcoming pop-up shop. Expertise: Grant writing feedback from a Sponsor who has a background in writing grants. Thoughtful Challenge: The Seeker dreams of launching a creative project but keeps stalling, and needs a challenge to help with a next step to bring it to life.
  • Is there a guarantee I’ll be sparked?
While there’s no guarantee, every spark is a real act of generosity from someone who resonates with your story. Sometimes it happens quickly, and other times it takes a little while. But just by asking, you’ve already taken a bold and beautiful step and that’s something to be proud of.
  • How long will it take to get a spark?
Every journey is different. Some Seekers are sparked quickly, while others may take more time. Sponsors choose Seekers whose stories resonate with them, so we appreciate your patience as the right match finds you.
  • Can I be sparked more than once?
At this time, each Seeker can be sparked once. As The Spark Chain grows and more Sponsors join the movement, we’ll thoughtfully explore the possibility of receiving sparks more than once in the future.
  • What happens after I get sparked?
Depending on your preference, The Spark Chain will either personally connect you with your Sponsor or act as the go-between, sharing their spark with you while keeping your personal information (and your Sponsor's) private. Once you receive your spark, it’s time to take your next brave step. Use the support to move forward and do the thing you set out to do!
  • What happens after I use my Sponsor’s support and take my bold step?
After taking your bold step with the support you received, you become a Spark Sponsor. It’s your turn to pass it on by supporting another Seeker with courage, connection, and a small act of support. You keep the chain going, one spark at a time.
  • How do microgrants work?
You can request a microgrant of $100 or less. You'll provide your preferred payment app information (like Venmo or Zelle), which will only be shared with your matched Sponsor. The Spark Chain DOES NOT handle or transfer funds. Your Sponsor will send the microgrant to you directly.
  • Will my name or personal info be shared?
Only your chosen display name and story will be public. Contact or payment info is shared only with your matched Sponsor and only with your permission.
  • How do I become a Spark Sponsor?
To become a Spark Sponsor, you must first receive a spark as a Seeker. Once you've experienced the power of someone believing in your bold step, you're invited to keep the chain going by supporting another Seeker. You’ll browse the gallery of current Spark Seekers, find a story that resonates with you, and choose how you want to spark them. It's a peer-to-peer gesture of support that helps someone take their next step forward, just like someone did for you.
  • What types of sparks can I offer?
Each Seeker shares the type of spark that would help them most. You browse the gallery and find a Seeker whose request matches something you can offer. Whether it’s sending a kind note, sharing insights from your own experience, offering a small financial boost, or issuing a motivating challenge, your spark becomes the next link in their journey forward.
  • How do I get connected with my Spark Seeker?
Once you choose a Seeker and complete the Spark Sponsor form, The Spark Chain will review and approve the match within 72 hours. Depending on the preferences you and the Seeker selected, we’ll either introduce you both directly or deliver your spark on your behalf. Some sparks are shared personally, others anonymously, as it's dependent on the preferences of both the Seeker and the Sponsor.
  • Is there a timeframe to send my spark once matched?
Yes. We ask that you send your spark within 7 days of receiving confirmation of your match to keep the chain moving.
  • Do I have to stay in touch with the Seeker afterward?
No. There is no expectation of continued contact unless both of you agree. The spark is a one-time act of paying-it-forward.
  • Can I support more than one Seeker?
Yes. Once you've become a Sponsor, you're welcome to support additional Seekers anytime.
  • I reviewed the Spark Seekers and there isn’t anyone I can support right now. What should I do?
We want every match to feel authentic. If the current Seekers' stories don't resonate with you, that’s okay, don’t spark. Instead, keep checking back as new Seekers are added regularly. Wait until you find a match that feels meaningful to you.
  • Will my name or personal info be shared?
Only the information you choose to share both with the Seeker and in the public Spark Chain gallery on our website. The Spark Chain can send the spark on your behalf if you choose to remain anonymous. The only exception is if the spark is a microgrant. You will be responsible for delivering that directly to the Seeker. The Spark Chain DOES NOT handle financial transactions.
  • What if I change my mind after being matched?
Let us know as soon as possible so we can rematch the Seeker. Life happens, and we appreciate the heads-up.
